The Zeta Potential Analyzer ZPA 20 uses different measuring cells to measure the zeta potential of plate-shaped solids, fibres, powders, flexible tubes, hollow fibre or ceramic membranes. With the optional liquid dosing unit LDU 25 the electrolyte solution inside of the ZPA 20 can be changed automatically.

The modular design of the ZPA 20 allows the measuring cells to be easily exchanged. The next sample can be prepared in a second sample cell during the measurement. Different cells are available for different sample types. Corresponding tools for the measuring cells ensure easy and repeatable sample preparation.
The MC-ZPA/PF is a cell for measuring the zeta potential of fibers, powders and granules. The sample material is compressed between two compression discs. The optional compression tool with torque wrench can be used to ensure repeatable compression.

The MC-ZPA/S is a cell for measuring the zeta potential of plate-shaped solids. Using a special cutting tool, a sample can be cut from plate-shaped solids such as plastic sheets. The dimensions of the gap, which allows the electrolyte to pass along the sample, can be adjusted with the integrated micrometer screw gauge.
The MC-ZPA/K is a cell for measuring the zeta potential of plate-shaped solid samples which cannot be brought to the sample size of the MC-ZPA/S. The size of the gap that allows the electrolyte to flow along the sample can be adjusted using different spacers. Optionally, the counter surface of the sample can be provided with material in the dimensions of the MC-ZPA/S and measured there.

The MC-ZPA/HF 1 is a cell for measuring the zeta potential on the inner surface of tubes. Various adapters can be used to measure tube diameters within the specified diameter range.
The MC-ZPA/HF 3 is a cell for measuring the zeta potential through the wall of hollow fiber membranes.

The MC-ZPA/CM 1 is a cell for measuring the zeta potential of tubular ceramic membranes. The ceramic membranes are flowed through radially. Optionally, the flow direction can be changed.
The MC-ZPA/CM 2 is a cell for measuring the zeta potential of tubular ceramic membranes. The ceramic membranes are flowed through axially.

The Zeta Potential Analyzer ZPA 20 can use a liquid dosing unit LDU 25 to automatically change concentrations inside the electrolyte. Hence, for example the pH value can be changed after each zeta potential measurement and the isoelectric point is determined in a series of experiments during which no manual user intervention is required.
Since the ZPA 20 can measure zeta potentials exceptionally fast even the adsorption kinetic of surfactants can be analyzed by dosing surfactant solution to the electrolyte. For detail see the corresponding application example.
The liquid dosing unit LDU 25 can be equipped with up to four DataPhysics Instruments syringe modules (ESr-LDU) performing independent dosing operations. This allows to dose different solutions individually. There are two options available for dosing: The first allows for a (direct) dosing of the syringe content (SH-LDU) while the second one connects to a liquid reservoir via an additional valve (RRS 25) in order to refill the syringe.
For convenience two pre-configured packages are available:
