Outsourced data processing

We have entered into an agreement with Google for the outsourcing of our data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic data collection by Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics' demographic features. This allows reports to be generated containing statements about the age, gender, and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google and third-party visitor data. This collected data cannot be attributed to any specific individual person. You can disable this feature at any time by adjusting the ads settings in your Google account or you can forbid the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described in the section Refusal of data collection.

5.2b Site Search 360

In order to provide you with a convenient search function on our website we use the search tool Site Search 360 (https://sitesearch360.com) which is provided by the company SEMKNOX (SEMKNOX GmbH, Webergasse 1, Haus B/1, 01067 Dresden, Germany). During your visit of our website data is only being sent to the provider once you enter a search term into the search field. The data includes your search query and the IP address of your device. The IP address can be stored for up to 14 days in case it is a blocked address (e.g. due to malicious behavior). Further information on the use of the data can be found in the privacy policy of Site Search 360 (https://sitesearch360.com/policies/). The use of Site Search 360 is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 paragraph 1, letter f of GDPR) of providing you with a convenient way of searching for information within our website. We have entered into an agreement with SEMKNOX for the outsourcing of our data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Site Search 360.

5.2c Email newsletter

When you sign up for our email newsletter we will send you information about our products and services on a regular basis. Required information for sending the newsletter is only your email address. For the sign up we use the so called double opt-in procedure. This means that we will only send you email newsletters once you explicitly confirm your desire to receive newsletters from us. We will send you a confirmation email that contains a confirmation link that you have to click in order to confirm your request to receive newsletters from us.

By clicking the confirmation link you agree that we can use your personal information in accordance to Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR. In order to retrace a possible abuse of your email address the IP address and time and date are recorded during the signup process. The data collected for the sign up are exclusively used for sending the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscription link in a newsletter or by contacting the aforementioned party responsible for this website. Once unsubscribed your email address is immediately being deleted from the mailing list.

Our newsletter is being sent with the newsletter service provider CleverReach (Cleverreach GmbH & Co. KG, Mühlenstr. 43, 26180 Rastede, Germany). We have entered into an agreement with CleverReach for the outsourcing of our data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using CleverReach. CleverReach is a member of the Certified Senders Alliance and complies with highest data protection standards.

5.2d Vimeo

In order to enable you to view videos produced by us we use the services of the video portal Vimeo, Inc., 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA, hereinafter referred to as Vimeo. The use of Vimeo is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 paragraph 1, letter f of GDPR) to provide you with a comfortable user experience and to give you easy access to our videos. Our website only transmits data to Vimeo once you have clicked on one of our videos. After this initiating click a connection to the servers is established and the corresponding video is embedded into our website. Furthermore, we exclusively embed videos using the dnt: Do not Track Mode offered by Vimeo. When you open a video Vimeo will record and process at a minimum your IP address, the date and time the displayed video, as well as the website you visited. In case you have a user account at Vimeo and are signed into it while you play one of our videos the data collected by Vimeo may be associated with your Vimeo account. If you want to prevent this, you have to sign out of your account or change appropriate settings in your account before viewing one of our videos.
