Challenging days lie in front of us all and no matter where the road leads we have to do our best to come out strengthened from this time of trouble. At DataPhysics Instruments we took many precautions to help our employees stay healthy during the pandemic. Where possible colleagues work from home or when they have to come to the workplace we ensure they can keep a safe distance to one another. Despite these limitations we are still going strong and are able to provide you with just the right advice, measuring system, technical service or contract measurement for your surface chemical application.

To take your mind off the distress all around we have launched a new format in which we take an interesting publication from surface and interfacial science and break it down into a short, pleasant read. For example did you ever wonder how contact angle measurements can help the fight against cancer? Feel free to explore the growing selection of application examples on our website.

Despite the disruptions caused by the current health crisis we were able to launch a new product in March. The SVT 25 is the new Spinning drop Video Tensiometer of the SVT series. With completely redesigned electrical components and many improvements it will continue the legacy of its successful predecessor SVT 20N.

In order to ensure the health of our valued customers and other interested persons we had to cancel our spring seminar on surface science. As a replacement we offer webinars that you can visit from the safety of your home or workplace.

With all this in mind, we wish you and your families a healthy spring and hope that together we will all get through the current crisis quickly and safely.

Application examples with highlights from surface and interfacial research

Staying up to date and following the latest trends and developments is one of the greatest passions for a scientist. However, the sheer amount of publications makes it hard to find enough time to explore beyond our own field of research. To help you get an overview of some interesting developments at a glance, we have recently launched a new format in which we take publications from surface and interfacial science and compress the information into an interesting short read that will leave you with new ideas and impressions. The first few of these application examples are now available on our website and for example show you how contact angle measurements can help the fight against cancer.

The new Spinning drop Video Tensiometer SVT 25

The SVT 25 is the new Spinning drop Video Tensiometer of the SVT series. With completely redesigned electrical components and many improvements it will continue the legacy of its successful predecessor SVT 20N.

Due to the high-performance camera with USB 3 interface the SVT 25 can resolve spinning drops with up to 2048 x 1088 pixel and hence offers five times the resolution of its predecessor. In addition fast processes e.g. during oscillation experiments can be captured with up to 3250 frames/s.

The TP 50 control panel with touch screen and precision control wheel ensures fast and intuitive device control, even during complex measurements. It enables easy and precise control of the rotational velocity, tilting angle, camera position, illumination and the temperature of the new measuring cells.

They let you refresh some basics and get to know new aspects and latest measurement techniques from the safety of your own home or workplace.
